Information Collection
We collect information on our users in two ways: through website usage data including cookies, and through registration.

Cookies and Website usage data
Our website utilises 'cookies' and Web server logs to collect information about how the site is used. Cookies allow Web servers to recognise the computer used to access a website. Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored by a user’s web browser software on the user’s hard drive. Cookies provide non-personal statistical information about visits to pages on the site, which may include the duration of individual page views, paths taken by visitors through the site, the websites visited just before and just after our website, and other general information. This information is collected on an aggregate basis. None of this information is associated with you as an individual. If you are concerned about cookies, you can turn them off in your browser.

Sharing your information
At no time will we sell or release your personal data to any third party organisation (subject to the Exclusions stated below). Many organisations collect data in order to sell on to partners and affiliates, but 01zero-one has no intention of doing this.

Access to your personal information
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information 01zero-one holds about you and have any inaccuracies corrected or removed. Please address requests in writing to the Data Protection Officer, 01zero-one, Westminster Kingsway College, Peter Street, London. W1F 0HS. (We charge £10 for information requests. Cheques should be made payable to Westminster Kingsway College.)

Registration

 

Mailing List
Registration allows you to receive news and events email updates without registering as an Insync member by providing their email address only when you click to join our mailing list. 01zero-one will retain the email address until they receive a request to unsubscribe sent from the same email address.

We will never intentionally solicit or proactively send promotional emails to users unless they have explicitly asked to receive this type of communication.

Any user can opt out of communications at any time by following the Unsubscribe instructions published in every 01zero-one email update, or by sending an email with 'UNSUBSCRIBE' in the subject line to

Insync
registration allows you to become a member of Insync and use advanced features of the 01zero-one website, such as accessing the 01zero-one archive or take part in online discussions.

When you register on the 01zero-one site you knowingly choose to provide 01zero-one with personal information. The minimum information we need to register a user is their name, email address and a username of their choosing. Any further details you choose to supply about yourself and your company when you register are provided at your own discretion.

Events and courses enrolment.
When booking for an event or course you will be asked for information such as your address, company, telephone number and credit card details. This data will be retained by 01zero-one for purposes relating to the administration of that event or course, and may also be used to monitor usage of 01zero-one website and other activities. By enrolling for a course or an event, you agree to receive communication relating to that course or event.

Security
Should you send confidential personal information, such as credit card details, to the 01zero-one website via the appropriate forms and interfaces, the information will be transmitted via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, which is the industry standard method for protecting web communications. The SSL security protocol provides data encryption, server authentication, message integrity and client authentication to ensure that not only is the data encrypted before we receive it, but the information can only be understood by authorised computers.

Other emails that you send to us may not be secure unless we advise you that security measures will be in place prior to your transmitting the information. For that reason, we ask that you do not send confidential information to us through an unsecured email. Please use the appropriate forms and interfaces provided for such circumstances.

Periodically, our business practices are reviewed for compliance with industry standard policies and procedures governing the security and confidentiality of our information.

Protection of minors
The 01zero-one site is intended for adults working in the digital media industries, and no part of our site is targeted to attract minors. For that reason, we do not collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are aged 16 and under. We request that all visitors to our website aged 16 and under do not disclose or provide any personally identifiable information. If we discover that an individual aged 16 or under has provided us with personally identifiable information, we will delete such information from our records.


Exclusions
We reserve the right to access and disclose individually identifiable information to comply with applicable laws and lawful government requests, and to operate our systems properly when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of our legal rights or those of our users.
