Introduction to Final Cut Pro

This course covers everything you need to do a simple edit and export your final project within Final Cut Pro. The course takes place in our fully equipped mac suite in Soho. Each student learns on a Mac G5 using Final Cut Pro 6. The tutors are professional editors working to our modular lesson plan which is accompanied by comprehensive handouts. All teaching is based upon the professional application of the Final Cut Pro software.

 

Final Cut Pro for Avid Editors
27th & 28th Sept 08, £280 or £250 (conc)

A two day intensive introducing FCP features and interface for Avid Editors. It is aimed at editors currently working on Avid. Our tutor works professionally in both packages and is able to help you make a smooth transition to editing in Final Cut Pro. This course also covers keyboard modification (allowing avid shortcuts to be mapped onto FCP).

Advanced Final Cut Pro
24th & 25th Nov 08, £250 (conc £225)


For people with Final Cut Pro editing experience who want to learn the more advanced features and polish their skills. This course covers Motion Tab, Advanced timeline tools, Image/colour Correction as well as exporting to DVD using DVD studio pro.

Introduction to Mac Operating

In order to take any of the Mac based courses it is important that you have a basic operating knowledge of Apple computers.  This introductory course looks at the similarities and difference between PC's and Mac's.  Going over the functions of Mail, Address Book, Ical and Mac versions of Microsoft Packages. In the afternoon you will look at the creative packages iMovie, iDVD, iphoto.

Avid Introduction

Date tbc, £345 (conc £300)

A three day course for people who want to learn Avid. Taught by a professional editor our aim is to give you the skills to be able to cut your own projects using Avid. The course is taught on the latest software only, AVID Media Composer in our training school in Soho.

Attending this course will allow you to: Acquire basic skills such as capturing media, rough edit, learn different editing techniques, syncing, media management, customising the interface, titling, audio mixing and conforming. Aiming to give you a comprehensive overview of Avid’s full functionality and usage within production, so you can feel confident that when you brief technical staff you get what you need!
